Do these jeans make me look fat..??

I had a very interesting conversation a few days ago with a couple of guys who have been around when it comes to relationships. We were having coffee in a popular coffee shop in town where lots of young, good looking and not so good looking ladies come to get their morning fix. So unavoidably the conversation headed towards looks and who finds what body type appealing.

Being a girl with issues of my own when it comes to weight and body image and all those wonderful things we ladies keep ourselves busy with on a daily basis I was all ears! And I realised that we (ladies) really give men a hard time. We can’t always blame the men for shying away from giving us compliments or commenting on our looks. Do you know why they really, really, really hate our favourite questions “does this outfit make me look fat?” or “ how do I look?”. Because we (ladies) don’t actually want an honest answer! How many times has it happened that you asked the question, got an honest answer and didn’t speak to your man for 2 days?

Lets be honest – if you look in the mirror and last seasons’ size 8 jeans don’t feel so great (and you know you are actually a size 10 at the moment!) why do you need to ask your partner what he thinks?! Yes, it does make you look fat! Forcing him to say it looks good is not going to make that pair of jeans fit! And if you ask his opinion on an outfit, be prepared to receive an honest answer. Again, why do you ask if you don’t want the truth??

My dear sisters, why do we torture our men like this?? Do you realise that we have only ourselves to blame for not getting compliments? The poor men are so scared to say anything because even if they do compliment us we can’t just gracefully accept it.

During this very enlightening conversation I realised that men don’t really expect us to look like lingerie models, we just think they do. They appreciate an average looking girl that has the confidence of a lingerie model. For them it’s about you taking what you’ve got and working it!

So Sisters, I dare you to try this out. Don’t ask these questions unless you are truly prepared to receive an honest answer from your partner. When he compliments you, thank him gracefully. If he tells you yes, it does make you look a bit chubs, say thank you and that you appreciate his honesty. Then make yourself a Herbalife shake and go for a run or a walk! I can assure you, you will be amazed by the change this will have in your relationship…
